For the first time in 36 years, the Aktobe reservoir on the Ilek River has been reconstructed, and today its capacity is 245 million cubic meters.
And in the West Kazakhstan region, the Kirov reservoir was repaired for the first time in 58 years. Irrigation channels have also been repaired. This will improve the water supply to farmers and for livestock watering. In Atyrau region, the Aksai canal, 74 km long, was also repaired for the first time in 41 years. The development of design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of the Astana reservoir has begun. And in the East Kazakhstan region, preparations are underway for the reconstruction of a reservoir on the Kandysu River.
