In Semey, 27 projects (17 basic and 10 additional) are planned to be implemented as part of the Roadmap for the development of smart cities. Abzal Serikuly, Head of the Department of Digital Technologies, noted that the purpose of this initiative is the efficient use of urban resources, the introduction of high–tech solutions for the development of the city and improving the living conditions of residents.
"As part of the Roadmap, several projects were launched in 2024. Among them are automation of housing and communal services, digital accounting of green spaces, and the opening of IT platforms based on secondary and higher educational institutions. The 109 Unified Contact Center has also been improved with the introduction of omnichannel, database availability and access to video surveillance systems.In 2025, it is planned to increase the number of services in the field of housing and communal services to 40," Abzal Serikuly stressed.
In addition, on behalf of the akim of the region, the Department of Digital Technologies is working on the launch of the My Semey superapplication.
"The My Semey app will provide such opportunities as calling a taxi, tracking the movement of buses, making an appointment at a polyclinic, integrating with the 109 service, and receiving information about cultural sites. It will also combine data on weather, exchange rates, news, polls and provide access to housing and communal services. This project is aimed at turning Semey into a smart city," said the head of the department.
In addition, for the development of tourism, the Department of digital technologies of the region is working on launching a service for booking holiday homes on Lake Alakol – ALAKOL.KZ . The project will be presented next year in the format of a website and a mobile application.
