On January 20, 2025, a meeting was held between the Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov and the leaders of the IT industry.
As the head of the region noted, the capabilities of AI are expanding every day, and at the same time new prospects for economic development and increased labor productivity are emerging.
“Artificial intelligence is not just an innovation, but a powerful tool that can improve the efficiency of entire industries and the economy. In recent years, Kazakhstan has seen an active growth of interest in AI. On behalf of the Head of State, the Government of the country is taking measures to develop the relevant infrastructure and ecosystem, and our region should not remain on the sidelines,” the Akim of Kostanay region emphasized.
During this event, topical and important issues for our region were discussed - the results of digitalization development in 2024, further prospects, as well as the introduction of artificial intelligence in the region.
The President of the Kazakhstan Association of Information Technologies and Innovations Irina Yuryevna Sulimenko reported in detail on the work carried out to export IT services to the EU countries for the past 2024.
The agenda also considered initiatives and startups that will have a positive impact on the region's economy. A native of the Kostanay region, Yerzhan Muratuly Karatayev, spoke about the prospects for Kazakhstan's interaction with Japanese enterprises in the use of artificial intelligence. He currently lives and works in Japan.
The regional manager of Qostanai Hub, Damir Dulatovich Mnaidarov, shared the results of the work and plans for the future. The company actively promotes startup cultures and IT communities, and also provides great opportunities for the development of young talents.
The Kostanay region is a region with developed agriculture, industry and great potential for the implementation of innovative technologies. In the future, the initiatives proposed during the meeting will be taken into account in further work.
Summing up the event, Kumar Aksakalov noted that the introduction of artificial intelligence in our region will open up new opportunities for economic development, improving the quality of life and modernizing key industries. This requires coordinated work by government agencies, businesses, educational institutions and the entire IT community.
