Since January 2025, QR codes have been introduced in schools and colleges to access the 111 contact center, which were implemented jointly with the Commissioner for Children's Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This center provides legal, organizational, and psychological assistance in protecting the rights of families, women, and children.
Now, in addition to being able to call 111, children and their parents can send requests via QR codes. They are located in all educational institutions, places accessible to children, as well as at bus stops. This innovation is aimed at improving the convenience and accessibility of receiving assistance.
"Previously, children could only contact the contact center by phone, but now they have the opportunity to send requests via QR codes. This greatly simplifies the process of contacting support, making it more convenient and accessible. QR codes allow you to quickly and anonymously receive the necessary information and assistance, which contributes to a prompt response to children's questions and requests," said Nasymzhan Ospanova, Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
By the end of 2024, the 111 contact center received about 1,000 requests from children. They were provided with background information, psychological support, and timely assistance in cooperation with government agencies.
It should be recalled that in July 2024, within the framework of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on ensuring Women's Rights and child Safety adopted by the Head of State, the functions of the 111 contact center were legally fixed.
