On the evening of January 15, 2025, Astana resident Yulia Shimon showed exceptional vigilance and civic responsibility, preventing a tragic situation. The woman called the city's Emergency Situations Department and reported a possible fire in one of the apartments of a neighboring apartment building on Kerey-Zhanibek Khandar Street.

  Yulia noticed a burning lamp on the table near the window, which could have caused a fire. She was worried about the possible consequences and immediately called for help. Rescuers rushed to the scene, and upon arrival it was determined that the cause of the alarm was indeed a lamp. Thanks to the woman's timely call to the 112 emergency rescue service, it was possible to prevent the fire.

  “Yulia Shimon showed exceptional vigilance, which allowed her to prevent tragic consequences. Her timely and decisive action is a vivid example of the importance of vigilance and caution of every citizen. We are proud of such people and hope that their actions will serve as an example for others,” - said Madiyar Myrzageldiev, Acting Head of the Emergency Situations Department of Astana.

  Taking into account her vigilance, responsibility and active civic position, Yulia Shimon was awarded a diploma by order of the Head of the Emergency Situations Department. The award was presented by Madiyar Myrzageldiev, Acting Head of the Emergency Situations Department of Astana.
