The fight against illegal construction continues in the Almaty region. Over the past two weeks, monitoring groups have identified seven facilities being built without permits. Materials on all cases have already been sent to the court, where the future fate of the Samostroevs will be decided.
"Illegal construction is not just a violation of the law, it is a potential threat to the safety of residents and damage to the environment. We do not intend to turn a blind eye to this problem and will harshly suppress any attempts at unauthorized construction of facilities," said Gabiden Uzenbayev, Acting head of the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control of the Almaty region.
Local residents complain about the increased incidence of self-construction, noting the negative impact on the quality of life and the appearance of settlements. Photos and videos of illegal construction sites are increasingly appearing on social media, accompanied by outraged comments.
The Department of State Architectural and Construction Control assured that the inspections would continue. Violators will be fined, and illegal buildings will be demolished. In the last month alone, fines totaling 8,843,324 tenge were imposed in administrative cases related to violations in the construction sector.
"We urge residents of the region to be vigilant and report any facts of illegal construction. Only through joint efforts will we be able to stop this negative trend and preserve a favorable living environment," Gabiden Uzenbayev added.

The department also recalled the possibility of anonymous contacting through the official website of the department or by calling the helpline. Every request will be thoroughly checked. The regional authorities are determined to combat illegal construction and urge all residents to actively cooperate.
