The Akmola region is working to support veterans who have equal benefits to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and veterans of military operations in other countries.
In 2024, 1,439 veterans of the Chernobyl accident liquidators, the Afghan War, who served on the Tajik-Afghan section of the CIS border, and participants in the settlement of the interethnic conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh received a one-time social payment for memorable days and holidays in the amount of more than 198 million tenge from the regional budget.
For 2025, it is planned to allocate about 140 million tenge from the regional budget for one-time social payments to 1,426 veterans of the above category.
Deputy Akim of Akmola region Altynai Amrenova met with representatives of public associations of veterans on social support issues.
During the meeting, veterans raised questions about increasing the amount of reimbursement for sanatorium treatment, dental prosthetics, and utility bills in all regions of the region.
By the way, according to the rules of social assistance, veterans are provided with the following additional support measures:
Reimbursement of the cost of sanatorium treatment once a year up to 40 MCI (157 280 tenge).
Reimbursement of the cost of travel for medical treatment once a year:
up to 20 MCI (78,640 tenge) for veterans from a number of districts of the region.
up to 10 MCI (39,320 tenge) for veterans from Zhaksyn and Zharkain districts.
Reimbursement of dental prosthetics costs once a year in the amount of up to 30 MCI (117,960 tenge).
Compensation for utilities in five districts of the region.
It should be noted that the Akmola region is one of the three regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan where these standards are fully implemented (including Astana and the North Kazakhstan region).
