Zhansaya helps children with disabilities
For several years now, the Zhansaya Social Service Center has been operating in the capital, which provides a range of special social and rehabilitation services to children with disabilities with neuropsychiatric pathologies, musculoskeletal disorders between the ages of one and a half and eighteen years. Adult citizens with disabilities and neuropsychiatric diseases also receive assistance here, the official website of Astana Akimat reports.
640 children receive services in the capital's center.
Unlike other social service institutions, the CSU CSO "Zhansaya" is not limited to special social services at home, it also additionally provides rehabilitation services in a semi-hospital setting.
The main purpose of the Center is to provide special social services for children with special needs at home, providing comprehensive care and support directly in their living conditions, as well as providing qualified assistance from social workers.
The social workers of the Center, having appropriate training, conduct individual lessons with children, provide assistance in care and support, including psycho-emotional support and social adaptation to society.
In 2024, the Center's staff provided 276,790 special social services at home.
The main area of work is the provision of rehabilitation services on the territory of the Center. With the help of qualified specialists — psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, music therapists, speech therapists, massage therapists and physical therapy instructors — conditions are created for the maximum development of children, improving their social skills and quality of life. As a result of comprehensive rehabilitation services, 5 children were able to take their first steps in 2024. Educational advisory trainings for parents are conducted throughout the rehabilitation period. During rehabilitation, a "School for Moms" is being organized on an ongoing basis, where 174 events were held in 2024.
There is an art therapy, vocal and dance club for children on the territory of the Center.
Since the beginning of 2024, rehabilitation services have been provided to 1,152 recipients.
The Center also provides hippotherapy and hydrotherapy services, and pays great attention to leisure activities. During the year, 738 wards of the Zhansai Sports Training Center visited the Argymak racetrack 48 times, 82 classes were held in the pool for 849 people. Taking into account the fact that cultural events can contribute to better social adaptation, 57 events were held last year, covering 2,469 recipients of services. These are collective visits to theaters, cinemas, museums, circuses, attractions, trips to nature, excursions to the sights of the capital.
