During the meeting, issues related to the preparation of national teams for this year's Asian Winter Games in Harbin, as well as for the XXV Winter Olympic Games and the XIV Winter Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo in 2026 were discussed. Special attention was paid to modernizing the sports infrastructure, improving the training system and improving the level of professional training of athletes, and developing a strategy for the further development of winter sports in the country.
"The most important international competitions are ahead of us. The IX Asian Winter Games will start in Harbin in a week, after which we will begin active preparations for the XXV Winter Olympic Games and the XIV Winter Paralympic Games in 2026. To successfully compete at the upcoming games, 137 training camps were held, as well as participation in 86 international competitions. At the Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, our team was among the top four countries. Today we have an important task ahead of us — to consolidate these achievements and show high results again. There are 12 days left before the start of the games to be held in Harbin. 138 Kazakhstani athletes will take part in the competition, who will compete in 6 sports and 10 disciplines and compete for 51 sets of awards. I believe that the national team of Kazakhstan will adequately represent our country at the upcoming games, and all the necessary conditions have been created for this," said Erbol Myrzabosynov.
