In the field of Housing and Communal Services, the possibilities of a day care center have been expanded, providing specialized social services to children with special needs aged 1.5 to 18 years. A new department has been opened at the center located in Taldykorgan, due to which its capacity has been increased to 110 beds in a hospital, the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
New premises with an area of about 470 sq. m. The meters fully meet all modern standards and requirements. Children are divided into two groups depending on their age and health status.
- The main purpose of the department's opening is to restore the social significance of children with disabilities and their adaptation to society. We provide eight types of services, including social-medical, social-psychological and social-pedagogical assistance. At the same time, for the convenience of families, social taxi services are provided, including four cars that take children to and from the center. The department is open from 8:00 to 17:00, weekends are Saturday and Sunday," said Nazgul Burkitbayeva, Deputy director of the Center for Social Work.
Parents of children who are already attending the center also shared their impressions.
The mother of a girl with special needs, Saniya Tenizbayeva, noted:
- For us, the work of the Baiterek center is a huge support. Now they have opened a new department, cozy, bright, and warm. In this center, my daughter not only receives professional help, but also feels like part of a team, part of a large and friendly family. And for me, as a mother, it is important that the specialists of the center are always there, helping and guiding.
She was supported by Karlygash Tutkabayeva.:
- The opening of a new branch is a really big and joyful event for us. Here, our children are helped to believe in themselves and find their place in life," she said.
In total, there are 13 institutions with 1,566 places in the field of Housing and communal Services that provide special social services for people with disabilities. In 2024, these institutions provided 1,512 social services. Last year, adaptation work was carried out on 168 facilities for people with disabilities.
By the way, in 2025, it is planned to start construction of a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities with 150 beds in Taldykorgan.
