On January 22-23, the thickness of the snow that fell in Almaty reached 18 cm. In this regard, the municipal services organized large-scale snow removal and clearing operations.
At night, 161 trucks were mobilized to clear the snow. Since the snowfall, 24 thousand cubic meters of snow have been cleared.
To ensure safe traffic and clear the roads, 442 special equipment, including 175 towed vehicles, were used. 1,280 workers began clearing the roads, including 257 additional people.
In addition, mechanized cleaning of sidewalks, public places, public transport stops and overpasses is being carried out.
On January 24, it is planned to mobilize 448 special equipment and 1,192 workers during the day.
According to the forecast of the Kazhydromet RSE, the weather will be cloudy on January 24, and precipitation is not expected. The daytime air temperature will be around -10…-12°C.
