The national team of Kazakhstan will take part in the International Science Olympiad (IJSO)

The national team of Kazakhstan went to the XXI International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), which will be held from December 2 to 12 in Bucharest (Romania). More than 360 students from 60 countries will take part in this prestigious educational competition.

The team of Kazakhstan includes:
• Adil Zhienbayev is a student of the 10th grade of the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics (Almaty);
• Munar Sagimbai is a 10th grade student of the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics (Almaty);
• Ayzere Zheniskhanova is a student of the 10th grade of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemical and Biological Sciences (Ust-Kamenogorsk);
• Abdijan Ibraimov is a student of the 9th grade of the NURORDA Lyceum School (Astana);
• Alikhan Iskender – 9th grade student of the regional boarding lyceum for gifted children "Bilim-innovation" (Aktobe region);
• Anastasia Ponomareva is a student of the 9th grade of the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics (Astana).

Team leaders:
• Samat Muratbekuly Maksutov – PhD, Associate Professor at SDU;
• Aidos Bekzatuly Sarsenbai is a student of the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yesenov, winner of international and national Olympiads;
• Muhammedali Ganiuly is an SDU student, winner of international and national Olympiads.

For reference: IJSO is an international scientific competition for schoolchildren under the age of 15, held since 2004. Participants demonstrate their knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology. In 2023, all six participants of the Kazakh team won prizes at the Bangkok Olympics. This year, the students have completed two-week training camps in Astana and are ready to defend the honor of the country again.
