As of January 1, 2025, there were 85,203 veterans living in Kazakhstan, including 120 veterans of the Great Patriotic War (hereinafter referred to as the Great Patriotic War), 16,983 veterans equated with Great Patriotic War veterans in terms of benefits, 26,506 veterans of hostilities in the territory of other states, and 41,594 home front workers during the Great Patriotic War. In 2024, special state benefits in the amount of 16.7 billion tenge were paid to these categories of veterans. In 2025, 17 billion tenge is allocated for these purposes.
A special monthly state allowance from the republican budget will be paid to all categories of veterans, regardless of whether they receive other social payments, in the following amounts:
WWII veterans - 16 MCI (in 2025 - 62,912 tenge);
Veterans equated to WWII veterans in terms of benefits, including:
- Persons equated to persons who were injured, contused, injured or disabled as a result of illness during the WWII period - 7.55 MCI (in 2025 - 27,875 tenge);
- Persons equated to participants in the WWII in terms of benefits - 6.19 MCI (in 2025 - 24,339 tenge);
Veterans of hostilities in the territory of other states, including:
- Participants in hostilities in Afghanistan - 6.19 MCI (in 2025 - 24,339 tenge);
- Military personnel who performed tasks to strengthen the protection of the CIS border on the Tajik-Afghan section, participated in the international peacekeeping operation in Iraq, and in the settlement of the interethnic conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh - 4.8 MCI (in 2025 - 18,874 tenge);
Homeland workers during the Great Patriotic War - 2.13 MCI (in 2025 - 8,376 tenge).
