Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzhekhanovich met with Paul Olivier, CEO of the French company Lidea, and Dupont Yan, Commercial Director for Russia and the CIS.
The parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation.
The Vice Minister informed the members of the French delegation that Kazakhstan is currently working on joining the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants and about state support measures aimed at stimulating seed production.
The measures include reducing the cost of seeds, mineral fertilizers (except organic fertilizers), pesticides, bioagents (entomophages), water supply services, etc.
In turn, Paul Olivier spoke about the company's activities and expressed interest in cooperation in the implementation of scientific programs on the selection and exchange of genetic material, the use of modern and advanced technologies for seed production and processing.
The issue of developing local seed production was also considered.
