Aidarbek Saparov and Oksana Lut signed an action plan for the development of Kazakh-Russian cooperation in the agricultural sector

The delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, is on a working visit to Moscow.
At a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the agro-industrial complex were discussed.
Oksana Lut described the relations between Russia and Kazakhstan in the agricultural sector as partnership and friendship.
In turn, Aidarbek Saparov noted that Russia is Kazakhstan's largest trading partner in the agricultural sector.
In recent years, the dynamics of the turnover of agricultural products between the two countries has exceeded 3.4 billion US dollars. According to the results of 11 months of 2024, there is an increase in the trade turnover of agricultural products with Russia by 4.3% or 3.4 billion US dollars.
"The volume of exports of Kazakhstani products to the Russian Federation is increasing every year. For example, according to the results of 11 months of 2024, exports amounted to 502.9 million US dollars. We are interested in increasing the presence of agricultural products on the Russian market and are ready to intensify work in all areas," the minister said.
The heads of the agricultural departments discussed the issues of lifting restrictions and transit of crop products.
It should be noted that, following the results of previous negotiations, the Kazakh side lifted all restrictions. In January 2025, the Rosselkhoznadzor lifted temporary restrictions on the import of tomatoes from 36 enterprises of Kazakhstan. Negotiations are ongoing to remove a number of restrictions on the import and transit of livestock and crop products.
The parties noted that work will continue to remove mutual restrictions in order to maintain the positive momentum of the volume of trade between the two countries.
Following the results of the meeting, an action plan was signed to develop Russian-Kazakh cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex. The document provides for interaction in the field of scientific and technological support of agro-industrial complex.
A number of Russian industry research institutes and universities have expressed interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstani colleagues.
In addition, the plan provides for the formation of proposals for the implementation of a joint project to create and develop an agro-biotechnical park, ensuring a favorable regime for mutual food supplies, completing work on the integration of information systems in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary control, and other measures.
