These works are being carried out within the framework of the “Clean Kazakhstan” environmental campaign, the purpose of which is to improve the environmental situation and ensure sustainable development of the regions.
KATCO, a joint venture of the French state company “Orano Mining SA” and JSC “NAC Kazatomprom”, and other national and private companies are actively participating in the project in organizing forest planting. The main goal of the project is to prevent further land degradation and improve the environmental situation.
Results to date:

From December 16 to 30, 2024, 12,000 hectares were sown.
In January and February 2025, 108,000 hectares are planned to be sown.
In March 2025, 16,492 hectares of saxaul trees are planned to be planted.
