Akmola region relies on innovations in dairy farming, introducing advanced technologies to achieve ambitious goals.
The opening of a milking workshop, which has no analogues not only in Kazakhstan, but also in Central Asia, took place in Agrofirma Rodina LLP in the Tselinograd district. The event was attended by Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangali Berdalin and Deputy Akim of the region Murat Balpan.
The Swedish brand DeLaval's robotic milking carousel system is capable of serving 2,000 cows in 5 hours with a one-time capacity of 80 heads, so the operator requires a minimum amount of effort, with only 12 people serving the unit in one shift.
A significant role has been given to the comfort of the animal: hooves and udders are treated, sensors monitor the diet and help maintain animal health.
The launch of the complex is an important step in the implementation of the President's instructions to increase the share of processed agricultural products to 70%.
"Our goal is to increase the supply of dairy products to the capital by up to 50%. For this purpose, new and expanding existing production facilities are being created in the region. The program of concessional lending of investment projects has served as an effective support tool," Murat Balpan said.
These measures will allow Akmola region to increase the production of marketable milk by 40 thousand tons or 1.5 times, from 90 to 130 thousand tons. This, in turn, opens up the possibility for the region to provide dairy products to residents of the capital by 50% in the future.
Last year, five large dairy farms with a capacity of about 4.9 thousand head of cattle were established. This year, the region plans to launch 2 more MTFs for 1.2 thousand heads. These are the first steps in the region that will allow Akmola region to increase the amount of marketable milk by one and a half times from 90 to 130 thousand tons and supply Astana residents with fresh, environmentally friendly product.
