Tolegen Zhangaliyev, a member of the Union of Writers and Journalists of Kazakhstan, holder of the Kurmet Order, holder of the badge named after Ybyray Altynsarin, winner of the Alash International Literary Award, Honored Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan, poet, turned 75 years old. In honor of this event, a creative evening called "Karkuar" was held at the Abai Drama Theater. The event was attended by representatives of the intelligentsia, poets and writers, students and readers of the poet.
At the beginning of the evening, akim of the region Nurlan Urankhaev congratulated the hero of the day and solemnly draped a chapan over his shoulders.
"Tolegen Zhangaliev is a true son of the land of Abai, a worthy descendant who has absorbed the rich heritage and chronicle of the history of the great land. If we talk about serving the great Abai, the wise Shakarim and the thoughtful Mukhtar, then it is worth learning from Tolegen aga. A source of inspiration for Kazakh spirituality, deep thoughts in the spirit of Abai, great ideas and exquisite words — he carries all this with honor. At the creative evening, a theatrical production "Karquar" was presented with the participation of actors from the Dariga-ai youth theater. Congratulatory letters from State Councilor Yerlan Karin and the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan were read out.
In addition, students of the hero of the day, such as poet Kalkaman Sarin, writer, winner of the international literary prize "Alash" Daulet Seisenuly, as well as a number of other writers took to the stage to express their warm wishes to Tolegen Zhangaliyev. Famous Kazakhstani writer, playwright, translator and public figure Rolland Seisenbayev read a poem dedicated to the poet.
