On behalf of the Head of State, large-scale legislative and strategic measures are being implemented to protect children's rights. As part of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on State Awards, Education and Protection of Children's Rights adopted in December 2024, it is planned to increase the staff of guardianship and guardianship authorities by 2.5 times. The decision is aimed at improving the protection of children's rights and strengthening the work of the guardianship system, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
For the first time, the standard for the staffing of guardianship authorities has been fixed at the legislative level — one specialist per 5,000 children. Today, the number of employees of the district guardianship authorities has been increased from 303 to 692 people. In 2025, this indicator is planned to be significantly expanded, which will increase the availability of care for children and their families, as well as improve the quality of work of guardianship authorities.
"The new staffing standard is unique for Kazakhstan and complies with international standards. Every specialist will now be able to work more effectively with children and their families, providing the necessary support," said Minister Gani Beisembayev.
Currently, the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, is developing methodological recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the guardianship authorities.
