In preparation for the flood period of 2025, Akim of the region Askhat Shakharov went to check on key water bodies and flood-prone areas of the regional center. With the help of a command and staff vehicle and unmanned aerial vehicles of the Emergency Department, the head of the region inspected potentially dangerous areas along the Ilek and Kargala rivers, as well as the Sazdinsky reservoir.
At the moment, coastal protection works are being carried out along the Ilek River with a length of 1300 meters. In addition, measures are being taken to drain meltwater in the areas of rural settlements "Aktyubrentgen" -14, 16, "Urozhodny", "Zelenstroy", which have fallen into the risk zone. In these places, the Ilek River is being leveled from the Zarechny Bridge to the Brick Bridge. The work is carried out by the contractor ZNS Group LLP, the project cost is 117.55 million tenge.
Askhat Shakharov also checked the progress of the ongoing repair of the Sazdinsky reservoir. Work has already been completed here on dismantling the bottom of the spillway bucket, pouring concrete with double-row reinforcement, installing a blind area and installing an ice wall.
Following the detour, the akim instructed to accelerate the completion of coastal protection works and begin the construction of protective dams in the most vulnerable areas.
