Kazakhstani athletes who competed at the Asian Kyokushin-kan Karate Championship in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, were solemnly welcomed at Astana International Airport, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
Following the results of the championship, the athletes of the national team of Kazakhstan in the adult category won 10 gold medals and took first place in the team competition. Among them, Astana athletes won a total of 7 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.
"More than 300 athletes from 15 countries took part in the championship. Our team improved on its previous results and was in the lead in the team competition. Now we are starting preparations for the 2025 World Cup in Japan. This achievement is a vivid manifestation of the talent and perseverance of Kazakhstani athletes. There is great confidence that in the future we will achieve even better results," said Azamat Takenov, head coach of the national Kyokushin karate team.
