The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerbol Myrzabosynov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Han Chunlin.
During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and sports. Last year, athletes of Kazakhstan and China performed at important competitions on each other's territory. Our compatriots competed in 31 sports events organized in China, while Chinese athletes took part in 15 competitions in Kazakhstan.
The tourism sector also remains an important direction of bilateral interaction. In recent years, cities such as Almaty, Astana, Turkestan and Aktau have been gaining popularity among Chinese tourists. The introduction of a visa-free regime between the two countries, an increase in the number of direct flights and active promotion of Kazakhstan's tourism potential have given impetus to a significant increase in indicators in the sector.
“On the instructions of the Head of State, last year the “Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China” was organized. "In order to demonstrate the country's tourism potential, more than 30 events were held in major cities of China. These included road shows, forums, exhibitions, concerts and other events. As a result of the work done, the flow of tourists from China to Kazakhstan last year increased threefold compared to 2023 and exceeded 650 thousand people. This indicates the great interest of Chinese citizens in our culture, history and natural attractions," noted Yerbol Myrzabosynov.
It is known that this year has been declared the Year of Tourism of China in Kazakhstan. At the end of the meeting, the Minister expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support for the successful holding of all events within the framework of the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan.
