In order to improve the quality of special social services (hereinafter referred to as SSS) provided by organizations, a register of specialists providing SSS (hereinafter referred to as the register) was introduced in Kazakhstan from January 1, 2025.
The register is an electronic list of specialists registered on the Social Services Portal, which contains complete information about the social worker: personal data, education, information on advanced training, information on passing certification, work experience, etc.
The register allows you to effectively form a list of all specialists providing special social services, improve access to information about social workers, and improve the quality of services provided.
As of the results of 2024, a total of 502 state organizations and 122 NGOs provide special social services in Kazakhstan, taking into account 1023 facility divisions. These include specialized social service centers, day care centers, rehabilitation centers and home social assistance units, temporary shelters and crisis centers.
Social workers currently provide 8 types of services: social and household, social and psychological, social and pedagogical, social and legal, social and economic, social and cultural, social and labor and social and medical services.
Social workers are assigned according to an individual rehabilitation program, taking into account the age and health status of their recipients, as well as their living conditions.
