In 2025, 45 projects will be implemented in the Almaly district within the framework of the “People's Participatory Budget” program, including 23 courtyards.
As part of the improvement, children's and sports complexes will be renovated, comfortable benches will be installed, and new elements will appear to decorate the courtyards.
It is also planned to implement 18 projects for the improvement and landscaping of public spaces. One of the major projects is the major renovation of the pedestrian zone of Zhibek Zholy Avenue from Nazarbayev Avenue to Seifullin Avenue and the square near the Musrepov Theater. For these purposes, it is planned to develop design and estimate documentation this year. The renovation is planned to be completed by the end of November 2025.
One of the favorite places of Almaty residents is the Imanov Square, located at the intersection of Abylai Khan Avenue and Mametova Street. The Musrepov Youth Theater, universities, healthcare and educational facilities are located near the square. The square is attractive and popular among city residents. It is worth noting that last year, at the request of local residents, a dog walking area was built.
The “Participatory Budget” project will help improve urban infrastructure and create comfortable conditions for all residents of Almaty. Given the effectiveness of the program and the interest of residents, the Almaty akimat intends to support its development. This year, 17.1 billion tenge has been allocated in the city budget for “Participatory Budget” projects.
