Within the framework of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aktobe region has begun to intensify work on attracting investments for the development of the economy, infrastructure and implementation of social projects.
The main focus will be on attracting private and foreign investments, creating favorable conditions for business and supporting innovative projects.
Regional akim Askhat Shakharov held a meeting on the implementation of the instructions given by the President at the expanded meeting of the Government on January 28 of this year. The meeting, which was attended by city and district akims, heads of departments, discussed priority areas of work on increasing the volume of investments. They noted that the decline in investment activity requires taking urgent measures and coordinating actions between state bodies, development institutions and the business community.
“The main focus will be on attracting investments. Only by increasing the tax base of the region can we solve the social problems of the population. It is important that all responsible structures actively participate in the work. In order to avoid misunderstandings, clear explanations will be given on taxation issues and other aspects. In addition, if we want to boost the economy, we need to develop all areas, including tourism. We have specific tasks ahead of us, for each of which a specific implementation plan will be developed,” the regional governor said.
It should be noted that in 2024, the volume of investments in the Aktobe region amounted to 901.1 billion tenge. The decrease in investments is due to the completion of a number of large projects for the modernization of production and equipment, as well as a reduction in the volume of oil and gas production.
In 2025, it is planned to implement 10 investment projects worth about 500 billion tenge in the region, which will allow creating about 1.2 thousand jobs. These initiatives are aimed at developing industry, energy and infrastructure, which should contribute to improving the economic situation in the region.
During the meeting, the head of the region emphasized that the work of the investment headquarters will be reviewed to strengthen the investment potential of the region, and interaction with the Kazakh Invest, Aktobe SEC and specialized departments will be intensified. Special priority is given to supporting large projects that contribute to expanding the tax base and creating new jobs.
The participants also discussed mechanisms for increasing the region's investment attractiveness, including facilitating the issuance of technical conditions, developing a logistics hub at the Aliya Moldagulova International Airport, and conducting explanatory work among businesses on taxation and state support.
The regional akim noted that responsibility for achieving investment indicators lies with all leaders, and work will be evaluated based on specific results. The country's government supports the region, but the successful implementation of the tasks set requires active and coordinated interaction of all stakeholders.
"The work of each leader is given a specific assessment. In this regard, the government is already taking strict measures. The President of the country said that he relies on officials who are not afraid to take responsibility. The leader must make decisions and follow them through to the end. We cannot stand still, we must not allow this," the akim concluded.
