In addition to ensuring economic growth in the region, special priority is given to improving the quality of life of the population. The rate of use of high-quality drinking water by the region's residents is 98.6 percent. This year, 100 percent of all settlements will be supplied with high-quality drinking water. The level of gas supply is 78 percent, and the future target is to increase it to 83 percent.
This was noted by the regional governor Nurlybek Nalibayev at an expanded meeting of the Government chaired by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Last year, 12 billion tenge was allocated for the modernization of heat supply facilities and networks, and preparatory work was carried out in a timely manner. Thanks to this, the heating season is underway in a regular mode.
There are also positive changes in road infrastructure. The share of roads in good condition in the region has reached 92 percent, and this year another 329 kilometers of roads have been repaired, and this figure exceeds 95 percent. With the support of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly, a new terminal of the "Korkyt Ata Airport" was built and put into operation. In addition, a modern bus station building was put into operation, and the railway station was renovated. The issue of public transport has also been fully resolved, and 100 electric vehicles are providing eco-taxi services to residents.
