At the expanded meeting of the Government chaired by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the regional governor Nurlybek Nalibayev made a report and spoke about investment projects in the region.
In 2024, 21 investment projects worth 37 billion tenge were launched in the region to diversify the economy.
Investments in fixed capital amounted to 640 billion tenge, and the growth was 21.7 percent (14 percent higher than the average for the republic, 107.5 percent for the Republic of Kazakhstan). 70.5 percent of which were private investments. Thanks to effective work with foreign investors, direct investments in the amount of 171 million US dollars were attracted in 9 months, and the growth reached 16.6 percent.
In 2025-2029, 65 investment projects worth 1 trillion. 900 billion tenge will be implemented in the region, creating 8,100 new jobs. Thanks to the direct support of the President of the country and the results of his visit to the State of Qatar, a project for a 1,100-megawatt steam-gas plant worth 800 billion tenge will be launched in the region. Currently, land has been allocated and a feasibility study is being developed.
This year, the construction of a new ore processing plant worth 215 billion tenge will begin to rehabilitate the Shalkiya lead-zinc mine, a plant producing 300 thousand tons of soda ash per year for 147 billion tenge. Also, 5 solar and 1 wind power plants with a capacity of 201 megawatts will be commissioned for 62 billion tenge.
According to the memorandums signed at the Kazakhstan-Germany, Kazakhstan-Korea forums held with the participation of the Head of State, a 19 billion tenge plant will be built, which will produce 220 million glass bottles per year using German technology, Construction of municipal solid waste processing plants by the Korean company "With You E&C Kyzylorda" for tenge will begin.
