Today, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the poet Zhumatay Zhakypbayev, who became the zhyr kagan, a literary and musical evening entitled "Zhyr zhyldyzy Zhumatay" was held at the D. Rakishev Philharmonic in Taldykorgan, - the press service of the akim of the Zhetysu region reports.
In the lobby of the regional philharmonic building, the S. Seifullin regional central library set up an exhibition of the poet's poetry collections, research books about his work, and photographs of the poet from different periods.
The literary and musical evening opened with a prologue from tsayyr poems performed by actors of the B. Rimova Drama Theater.
During the spiritual event, the deputy akim of the region Dias Esdauletov expressed his wishes to the public:
- This year is the anniversary year of the outstanding Kazakh poet Zhumatay Zhakypbayev, who has a special place in national poetry. It is a matter of pride for us that the poet Zhumatay is our compatriot. The spirit of the poet will always be exalted in the Kazakh bar, - said D. Esdauletov.
The mentioned literary evening was hosted by the Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, poet Zhumatay Amireev.
The poets Abubakir Kairan, Sailaubai Toylybayev, Maraltay Raiymbekuly, Bakhyt Bedelkhan, who came specially from Almaty, as well as the poets Amre Arin, Zhomart Igiman, expressed their thoughts on Zhumatay's work and read poems on stage. The older generation of poets who were with him, having seen the eyes of the poet, shared their memories.
At this evening, the songs "Ayybym bosla kesh gur", "Oh, Layla", as well as other concert numbers, written to the poet's words, were performed by the singers of the D. Rakishev Regional Philharmonic.
It should be noted that the poet's anniversary began to be celebrated in every district and city of the region in January of this year.
Let us recall that Zhumatay Zhakypbayev was born in 1945 in the village of Eshkiolmes, Eskeldy district. He is the author of "Saratan" (1979), "Layla" (1981), "Shugynyk-gul türkini" (1988) and other collections of poems. And he left behind several kuys. The name of the literary circle that gathered around Zhakypbayev during his lifetime became legendary and went down in the history of Kazakh literature under the name "Zhumatay's Kaganate".
