The leading museums of Kazakhstan were granted national status: the President signed the Decree

The Head of State signed the Decree “On granting the status of “National” to the republican state treasury enterprises of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan “State Art Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Abilkhan Kasteyev” and “State Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
This decision was an important event for the country's cultural sphere and received wide support from representatives of art, science and museum work.
The Director of the State Art Museum named after Abilkhan Kasteyev, Gulayim Zhumabekova, noted that the granting of the status of “National” to the museum coincided with its 90th anniversary and expressed gratitude to the Head of State:
“On behalf of all those who appreciate art, cultural figures who have contributed to the development of fine arts and museum work, we express our sincere gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev for this historic decision.”
Acting Director of the Central State Museum Galiya Temirton said that the new status will contribute to the preservation of the museum's historical and cultural heritage and noted that it is a worthy recognition of the long-term work in the promotion of the Kazakh SSR.
The Decree of the Head of State was also received with joy by Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Zhaken Taymagambetov and congratulated the museum staff:
“The Central State Museum, with its high professionalism, has long deserved to be called “National”. I congratulate all employees on this important event and wish them new achievements in museum work and scientific activity!”
Ethnographer, Candidate of Historical Sciences Tattigul Kartayeva emphasized the importance of granting national status to the country's leading museums:
“These museums are not just places where artifacts are collected, but are the main centers that prove the territorial integrity and richness of the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. Granting them national status is an important step towards the development of museum work. We are developing archeology, ethnology, anthropology, and museum work together. This status shows that our scientific research and practical work are reflected in museum work. "These institutions are real scientific centers," he concluded.
