We inform you that the shippers received phytosanitary certificates for a total of 2.7 thousand tons of potatoes before the ban on their export to third countries by all types of transport.
However, during the border crossing at the "Saryagash" station, a number of violations were raised by the shippers, including questions related to a significant decrease in the cost of potatoes. According to the documents, the export price for potatoes was set at 40-50 tenge per kilogram. For this reason, the cars were detained until all circumstances were clarified.
After checking the documentation, 42 cars of potatoes were sent to their destination in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Also, during the inspection, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to sell potatoes to the domestic market at a competitive price in the event of a threat of spoilage of the goods.
It should be noted that none of the 10 shippers filed complaints with state authorities regarding the condition of the potatoes.
We would like to remind you that in accordance with the decision of the interdepartmental commission to resolve the situation, from January 18, 2025, the export of potatoes from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by all types of transport, with the exception of exports to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, is prohibited for a period of 6 months.
