Uyghur region: Gasification and a breakthrough in agricultural development

One of the agrarian regions of Almaty region, Uyghur district, is achieving breakthroughs in the social and economic development of the region. Last year, the district achieved significant results in agriculture, infrastructure and social sectors, increasing the pace of development.
Agricultural achievements
The agrarian potential of the district is growing year by year. In 2024, 12,829 tons of vegetables were harvested in the region, with an average yield of 278 centners per hectare. In addition, farmers harvested more than 31 thousand tons of corn, more than 2 thousand tons of potatoes and 20 tons of oilseeds.
In 2025, it is planned to increase the volume of crops. According to the akim of Uyghur district, Bota Yeleusizova, the area under agricultural crops will increase to 23,265 hectares, and the volume of fodder crops will increase to 14,997 hectares. The total area of ​​​​agricultural land will increase by 2,000 hectares.
Water-saving technologies are also being actively introduced. Last year, 1,386 hectares of land were irrigated with such technologies, and in 2025 this figure is planned to increase to 3,500 hectares.
Processing industry and investment attraction
The total value of agricultural products in the region amounted to 50 billion 274 million tenge, and the actual index volume reached 95.5%. The processing industry is also developing - the volume of products produced in 2024 amounted to 22 billion 511 million tenge.
The region is among the leaders in attracting investment. Last year, the actual index volume reached 107%. According to the akim, 87 of the most urgent issues were included in the special road map developed for the district, 14 of which were fully resolved.
Social and infrastructure projects Special attention is paid to the development of social infrastructure in the Uyghur district. In 2024, a new school for 1,500 places was put into operation in the village of Shonzhi, and 40 houses were purchased for socially vulnerable groups of the population. In addition, the construction of a physical education and health complex, which began in 2019, was resumed, and 617 million tenge was allocated for it.
Work on improving the condition of roads is also continuing. Last year, 21.2 kilometers of roads were repaired, and this year funds were allocated to repair 25 kilometers of internal roads in the villages of Shonzhi, Bolshoy Aksu, Aktam, Kishi Aksu and Rakhat. As a result, the share of roads in satisfactory condition is expected to increase to 81%.
Gasification: A step into the future
Gasification work is continuing in full swing in the district. Shonzhi village is already fully supplied with gas, and 2,815 individuals and 126 legal entities have been connected to natural gas. In the near future, an automated gas distribution station will be built to gasify settlements located in mountainous areas. In the first stage, a gas pipeline will be laid in the villages of Kishi Dikhan, Ulken Dikhan, Kalzhat and Ketpen, and gas supply to other settlements will be carried out in stages.

Progress in agriculture, manufacturing and social infrastructure is contributing to the improvement of the well-being of the region's residents. Projects such as gasification and the introduction of new technologies will brighten the future of the region and ensure sustainable economic growth.
