Another night raid was conducted in the Esil district of the capital to prevent hookah smoking in public places, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.
The preventive measure was organized by employees of the Astana district akimat together with the police department.
"Violations were registered in two entertainment establishments. In each of them, one case of illegal hookah smoking was identified, and administrative protocols were drawn up," said senior lieutenant of the police Zhuldyz Mikhin.
Hookah smokers were fined under Article 441 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Such raids are regularly held in all districts of the city in order to prevent violations among residents and guests of the capital.
It should be noted that the resolution on the introduction of a ban on hookah smoking in public places came into force on March 14, 2013. Violators of the law will be fined in the amount of 15 MCI. For repeated violations - 20 MCI. And the owners of the establishments will be fined from 20 to 60 MCI.
