Snow removal work is ongoing in the capital around the clock, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.
On the morning of February 1, more than 2,600 road workers and more than 1,800 special equipment were mobilized to clear snow in the capital.
On the night of February 1, public utilities removed about 49,190 cubic meters of snow from the city in 3,744 heavy truck flights.
Since the beginning of the winter season, more than 4 million 570 thousand 183 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the city to landfills in 359,169 heavy truck flights.
First of all, according to the rules, places with the highest traffic intensity are cleared to avoid traffic jams on the roads. Also, areas with medium intensity - squares, areas near train stations, sidewalks, entrances to social facilities, etc. will be cleaned.
Cleaning of central streets, places where passenger transport routes pass, stops and sidewalks is also a priority.
There are several equipped snow polygons in the city. They are equipped with a system for reading license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is turned on.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, follow safety rules, and not go on long trips if there is a storm warning.
