In Astana, the authorized bodies, together with the akimat, are actively fighting drug crime, especially among young people. Since the beginning of the year, more than 400 drug crimes have been recorded in the city. Aliya Kibatkyzy, a senior operative of the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Police Department of the capital, told about this at a briefing in the Communications Service, the official website of the city akimat reports.
In 11 months of 2024, 407 drug crimes were registered in Astana, including
285 facts of sale, as well as 621 drug violations related to synthetic drugs.
339 kilograms of narcotic substances were seized from illegal trafficking, including 20.8 kilograms of "synthetics".
"The republican Comprehensive Plan to Combat Drug addiction and drug trafficking for 2023-2025 and the Program "Astana - a drug-free City for 2023-2025" are being implemented, in which government agencies and the public are maximally involved. Within the framework of which a number of measures are being carried out with authorized bodies aimed at preventing drug addiction and detecting crimes in the field of drug trafficking," the speaker said.
Together with government agencies and NGOs, law enforcement officers conducted 496 preventive measures, including actions, seminars, lectures, round tables, meetings, sports tournaments, contests.
