The winners of the competition within the framework of the Student Self-Government project were awarded at the Zhastar Palace in the capital, the official website of the Mayor's Office of the city reports.
Prior to the award ceremony, organized by the Astana Zhastary Youth Resource Center, competitions were held in such categories as modern dance, folk dance, playing national instruments and vocals. Students of the capital's universities took an active part in this event.
"Such events strengthen the relationships of young people, contribute to the establishment of networking and the manifestation of leadership qualities. Their interest in sports and an active lifestyle will also be increased. Thus, through events organized on an ongoing basis, the capital's youth will come together more often, share new ideas, work together on their implementation and thereby develop," said Arslanbek Magzum, deputy of the Maslikhat of Astana.
At the end of the creative contests, the solemn moment of awarding the winners began.
"The main purpose of the event is to unite the youth of Astana. Here, the capital's students not only express themselves, but also contribute to increasing the prestige of educational institutions. I think the award ceremony was held at its own level. All the winners received letters of thanks and financial prizes, and the athletes received cups and medals," said Kamilla Mukatayeva, an employee of the Astana Zhastary Youth Resource Center.
