47.2 million tons of feed have been harvested in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Agriculture, together with local executive bodies, continues to work on the development of feed production.
In order to take measures to expand the area of irrigated land for forage crops, develop seed production of forage crops, purchase agricultural machinery, increase the productivity of pasture lands, the department is working to update the Roadmap for the development of forage production.
This year, the acreage of forage crops according to the regions exceeded 3.2 million hectares, which is 83.5 thousand hectares more than in 2023. At the same time, the share of fodder placed on arable land was about 14% (in 2023 – 13%).
It is planned to harvest 24.5 million tons of hay (one and a half year – 36.7 million tons), haylage - 1.7 million tons, straw – 4.6 million tons, end feeds – 5.5 million tons and silage – 2.0 million tons.
As of October 30 of this year, hay was harvested in the amount of 33.3 million tons or 90.7% of the one and a half year plan, haylage 2 million tons or 117.6% of the annual plan, end feeds 4.8 million tons (86.2%), silage 2.3 million tons (117.4%) and straw 4.8 million tons (103.8%).
In general, the food security situation in Kazakhstan is projected to be stable.
