As part of the working trip, Deputy Akim of the Abai region Zhasulan Sarsebayev, together with the heads of departments, visited key educational, cultural and sports facilities in the Abai district.
One of the main objects of the visit was the Karaul Gymnasium, built in 1965. The Kazakhstan Khalkyna Foundation allocated 250 million tenge for its modernization within the framework of the charity program "Development of the potential of support schools in rural areas". 26 classrooms have been updated, including a STEM laboratory, robotics classrooms, an ART studio, a TV studio, a gym and an assembly hall.
"The conditions that exist in this gymnasium today meet the highest standards. We will continue to modernize schools to ensure equal access to quality education for all students," Zhasulan Sarsebayev stressed.
To date, 291 schoolchildren and 38 preschool children are enrolled in the gymnasium. The local authorities also plan to build a new sports complex and a children's summer camp in the surrounding area.
The next point of the visit was the center for people with special needs, which has been under construction in the district since June 2023. The deputy akim got acquainted with the progress of construction works, and also noted the importance of completing the facility on time.
Zhasulan Sarsebayev also visited the 500-seat regional House of Culture. The institution plays an important role in the development of folk art, leisure activities and cultural activity of the population. The construction of a sports module is underway in the village of Kokbai. The completion of the facility is scheduled for 2025, the area of the complex will be 0.319 hectares. A children's camp with an area of 1.4 hectares is being built in the Karashoky tract of the Kengirbaybi rural district. It is expected that the facility will also be put into operation in 2025.
Following the visit, Zhasulan Sarsebayev instructed the relevant departments to monitor the progress of construction of facilities, as well as strictly observe the deadlines and quality of work.
