After the meeting in a narrow format, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh continued negotiations with the participation of members of the official delegations of the two countries.
The President of Kazakhstan highly appreciated the results of the meeting in a narrow format and outlined priority areas for further development of interstate relations with Mongolia.
– The Kazakh and Mongolian peoples are the heirs of the civilization of the Great Steppe. Bringing our relations to a new level of strategic partnership meets the interests of the two countries. In Kazakhstan, they treat the Mongolian people with great respect and are always happy about the achievements of your country. At present, large-scale political, economic and social reforms are being carried out on your initiative. Such important programs as Vision 2050, Food Supply and Security, and Healthy Mongol are being implemented," the Head of our State said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recalled that close interparliamentary and intergovernmental ties have been established between the two countries. However, there is considerable potential for continued cooperation.
– It is necessary to increase cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, agriculture, transport and logistics, mining, industry, investment, new technologies and space research. I am confident that the documents to be signed today will give a serious impetus to the development of political and economic relations," the President said, stressing the importance of timely and high–quality implementation of the agreements reached by the governments of the two countries.
In turn, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh confirmed Mongolia's interest in strengthening ties with Kazakhstan on a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda. He expressed confidence that the agreements reached today will open a new milestone in the relations between the two states.
The President of Mongolia called Kazakhstan an important partner of his country, and a reliable bridge between East and West. According to him, Ulaanbaatar is carefully studying Kazakhstan's experience in economic development and will pay special attention to the effective implementation of bilateral projects in the fields of trade, transport, logistics, agriculture, and space research. In particular, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh supported the proposal of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to increase the volume of bilateral trade to $ 500 million.
At the end of the negotiations, the heads of state signed a Joint Declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership. Then the ceremony of exchanging signed documents took place.
During the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Mongolia, representatives of the delegations of the two countries signed 11 documents, including a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, a memorandum of understanding between the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the General Directorate of Veterinary Medicine of Mongolia on cooperation in the field of veterinary services and quarantine, etc.
