A documentary film "Kyz Zhibek: a recipe for love and success" dedicated to the legendary epic film "Kyz Zhibek" was shown in Karaganda. The presentation took place at the "Saryzhailau" cinema as part of the Days of Kazakh Cinema, which began in our republic. Meruert Utekeshova, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, came to the meeting.
The documentary film dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Sultan-Akhmet Kozhykov's film "Kyz Zhibek" was shot with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the National Center for Cinema Support. This is a reflection on why the epic film released in 1972 remains a pearl of national culture.

- I am glad to come to you, to Karaganda. The city is wonderful, beautiful, and rich in culture. Now, before the premiere, we met at the Saken Seifullin Theater. For me, showing this documentary is a big event, - says the initiator of the shooting and the film's producer Meruert Utekeshova.
The idea for such a project arose during the lifetime of the actress's husband Kuman Tastambekov, who played the role of Tolegen in the film "Kyz-Zhibek". Meruert Utekeshova believes that it is important to remember Kazakh classics forever, to leave them as a cultural heritage for future generations. She is sure that from the legendary epic, you can still learn directing, acting, and cameramanship.
There were many young people among those who came to the premiere in Karaganda.
It is known that the role of Zhibek opened Meruert's path to the profession of an actor. At that time, she was 16 years old, a tenth-grade student decided to take part in the competition and went on the set for the first time in her life.
During the interview, the famous film and theater actress answered a question about girls who go to castings in the hope of getting a role and becoming famous.
- You know, nothing comes easy. It's not like they say I'll act in films, I'll appear on the screen. Being an actress is a huge amount of work. If you have talent, you'll shine. If you don't, you might get lucky once, and then nothing will develop. Don't think that my first and main role was easy. I haven't told anyone, and I won't. Now I teach at the Institute of Arts in Astana. And no one taught me. There was an inner intuition, thanks to which I felt my colleagues, the director, the operator. And I did not know that an internal monologue was necessary, that preparation was necessary. Now we have been teaching it for four years: some people have it, some do not. I repeat: a lot of hard work and soulfulness are what is needed in any profession, - said Meruert Utekeshova.
