The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan outlined the prospects for cooperation with France in the field of migration

Astana, February 10, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakayev held a meeting with Special Representative of the Minister of Internal Affairs of France Patrick Stefanini.
The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular, legal and migration sectors.
A. Bakayev noted the strategic nature of the partnership between Kazakhstan and France and appreciated the efforts of the French side in managing the migration process.
The representative of the French Ministry of Internal Affairs proposed measures to strengthen cooperation in the field of legal migration, including supporting young scientists, specialists and students. The parties identified promising areas of interaction in this area.
Special attention was paid to the issues of simplifying the visa regime for citizens of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh side expressed its gratitude for France's support in initiating negotiations on visa facilitation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, which would facilitate the development of business, educational and cultural ties.
In order to further develop cooperation, the Kazakh side proposed facilitating business visits between the two states, which would open up new opportunities in the fields of investment, innovation, culture, sports, science and education.
As a result of the meeting, the interlocutors confirmed their readiness to develop strategic partnership and create favorable conditions for the mobility of citizens, implement educational programs and carry out joint work to expand cooperation in the field of migration.
