On February 20-23, the largest Almaty Tech Cup in Central Asia — robotics and drones championship — will be held at the Atakent Center, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The theme of this year's robotics championship will be devoted to the global problem of studying water resources and the underwater world.
Students will present their scientific projects and innovative startups in four age categories:
• FIRST LEGO League Discover (4-6 years old)
• FIRST LEGO League Explore (6-10 years old)
• FIRST LEGO League Challenge (10-16 years old)
• FIRST Tech Challenge (12-18 years old)
Teams will compete to defend the honor of the country at the world stage in Houston, Texas, USA.
The drone championship will be held in four areas:
• ASPAN Drone Competition — programming and control of drones;
• ASPAN Cyber Competition — virtual competitions on the VelociDrone simulator;
• ASPAN Drone Race — FPV (First Person View) drone competition.
The winners will have the opportunity to defend the honor of Kazakhstan at championships in South Korea, several European countries, China and Turkey.
It should be noted that Kazakhstan set a record by becoming a three-time world champion among 190 countries at the competition held in Athens in October last year.
The championship is organized by the Almaty City Department of Education, the USTEM Foundation, the Ashyq Aspan Scientific and Educational Foundation, the Daryn Regional Center for the Performing Arts, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the city administration.
