In order to protect the territory of the Ulytau region from spring floods, an action plan has been approved by the order of the regional akim, and a special headquarters is working. The staff is currently in "high readiness" mode.
The relevant city departments and organizations have prepared a stock of material and technical equipment and inert materials:
- 72 tons of fuel and lubricants;
- 10.5 tons of food;
- 4,000 tons of inert materials;
- 14,000 bags.
Another way to prevent flooding is systematic snow removal in settlements. To date, 250 thousand m3 of snow has been removed in the region, and work is ongoing.
44 reception points have been prepared in the territory of the Ulytau region for the temporary reception of the affected population. The total capacity of these places is 34,218 people.
In accordance with the plan, a topographic map has been developed based on flood-prone settlements, flood-proof dams, hydrotechnical structures, highways, evacuation points, as well as mobilized forces.
