Today, February 17, 2025, the Coal Industry Department of the Industrial Committee of the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan summarized the work of coal mining enterprises in 2024 and considered plans for 2025. 29 companies participated in the hearing.
According to the results of 2024, 112.6 million tons of coal were mined, the actual volume index was 102.9%. However, individual enterprises reduced production volumes due to deviations in the mining plan, reduced exports and other factors. Including "Kazakhmys Coal" LLP - 16.3%, "Maykuben-West" JSC - 28.8%, etc.
The Ministry, together with KTZ and enterprises, is taking measures to meet target indicators. The domestic market's coal needs are 7.9 million tons, and 7.53 million tons have already been delivered, which is 95.7% of the plan. And the reserves in coal pits are 476 thousand tons.
Work continues on the stable passage of the heating season.
