As part of his official visit to the People's Republic of China, Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev visited the Beijing Urban Planning Center - a unique institution that demonstrates the principles of modern urban planning and urban development.
Yerbolat Dossayev got acquainted with the issues of ecology, urban planning, and the main aspects of the Beijing Master Plan for 2016-2035, which reflects a systematic approach to the development of urban areas and their integration into a single agglomeration.
The Almaty Mayor noted the similarity of new approaches to the development of Almaty and Beijing in the area of ​​polycentric development. In the Chinese capital, polycentrics are called New Town. Such approaches allow distributing the load between the center, districts, and agglomeration, ensuring comfortable living, balanced development of infrastructure, and maintaining ecological balance.

“The Beijing Urban Planning Center is not just an exhibition, it is a living reflection of how the city is developing in accordance with global processes. "We are interested in applying the best practices and ideas in Almaty, ensuring the sustainable development of our city," Yerbolat Dossaev noted.
