The premiere of the musical "Volga and Zhaiyk" based on the life and work of the famous composer Ilya Zhakanov took place at the Atyrau Youth Theater, - the press service of the regional akim reports.
⁃Today we are witnessing something special for Kazakh culture and spirituality. My impression of the musical, which was held at a high level, is unique. Because while Ilya was playing our brother on stage, the hero himself was sitting next to me. Ilya Zhakanov is the pride of our country, who made an immeasurable contribution to the development of Kazakh musical art. We watched his life path on one stage in a two-hour performance. He also showed the difficulties and setbacks he encountered on his way. Along the way, he dedicated his talent and service to his nation. If this stage production were staged throughout Kazakhstan, it would be a great pride for the Atyrau region. I believe that the musical will find its way into the hearts of the audience and become a priceless jewel of Kazakh culture, - said the regional governor Serik Shapkenov.
The musical artistically reflects the life of I. Zhakanov, from his childhood, which coincided with the war years, to his youth, youth and heroic years, his civic principles towards his country and land, and human feelings woven into songs from the palace of his soul. The images of father Zhakan and mother Balken, who gave love to the child Ilya, Akhmet Zhubanov, who blessed the young man with art, Zhuban and Shamshi, who became like-minded souls on the path of art, the ghost of the hero Makhambet, who became the flag of the country - all this reveals the soul of a person whose life became a song.
The performance will feature the "Sarmad" ethno-folklore ensemble and "Gazhap band" vocal-instrumental ensemble, D. Students of the Nurpeisova Academy of Folk Music and Atyrau Music College performed.
It should be noted that the author of the performance is Madina Omarova, and the stage director is Askhat Maemirov, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, holder of the Order of "Kurmet".
