In Temirtau, an industrial cluster is being created around large businesses
21.02.2025 02:59:37 451Work is underway in Temirtau to create the first industrial cluster in Kazakhstan that will unite large companies and small and medium-sized businesses. A business forum "Development of industrial clusters and domestic values" was held at the Qarmet Creative Technologies Center, where issues of strengthening the domestic market, increasing competitiveness, isolating production, and integrating SMEs into large business structures were discussed.
Akim of Karaganda region Yermaganbet Bulekpayev noted the importance of developing the region's industrial potential at the opening of the forum.
- Our region is a territory of great opportunities. We are creating conditions for business growth and attracting investment. By 2025, we plan to attract more than 1.5 trillion tenge of investment, about 90% of which will be private investment, - said the akim of the region. - Together with Qarmet, we pay special attention to the development of the metallurgical cluster, including waste recycling. Together with the company, we will create a project office to quickly solve problems. And our main asset is people. As part of the Year of Working Professions, we are actively training personnel for new industries. We are creating a regional innovation and industrial hub on the basis of Karaganda Technical University.
Qarmet, developing an industrial cluster, offers offtake contracts and long-term terms to suppliers of goods and services. The regional akimat, together with Qarmet, will create a small industrial zone with 20 thousand square meters of ready-made premises as part of the initiative. New jobs will be created, as well as strengthening production chains and reducing dependence on external supplies.
– We must work so that all produced values work for the benefit of Kazakhstan. We have all the resources for this. Many developed countries work this way, - says Vadim Basin, CEO of Qarmet. – There is potential and support from the local executive authorities.
The development of an industrial cluster involves not only increasing production, but also introducing digital solutions, reducing the cost of production, and optimizing the interaction of businesses with government agencies.
– The forum is an important moment for stimulating and developing SMEs around a large enterprise like Qarmet, - noted Iran Sharkhan, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan. – The ministry is actively working on the interaction of large companies with local suppliers. We are confident that this is a guarantee of sustainable growth of the industry.
A memorandum on the development of domestic values was signed at the forum between the akimat of the Karaganda region and Qarmet JSC. This document guarantees support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the position of small and medium-sized businesses in the region.
It is also planned to create small industrial zones in other cities where Qarmet is located.
