Systematic work continues in the Turkestan region to provide settlements with infrastructure, high-quality electricity, and drinking water. Indicators and plans in these areas were widely discussed at a meeting chaired by the Governor of the Turkestan region, Nuralkhan Kusherov. The head of the region instructed those responsible to intensify the work.
- We have a task to fully provide the Turkestan region with drinking water. It is necessary to qualitatively summarize the work in this direction. Study water sources and suggest effective ways. It is advisable to take into account economic efficiency. Secondly, electricity is needed to increase the investment potential of the region. Companies responsible for this area should also speed up the work and help implement new projects, - said Nuralkhan Kusherov.
At the meeting, the Deputy Head of the Regional Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, Zhanadil Aitbekov, reported on the issue of providing drinking water to the Saryagash and Keles districts. There are a total of 63 settlements (221.4 thousand inhabitants) in the Saryagash district, of which 52 settlements (205.1 thousand inhabitants, 82.5%) are provided with drinking water. There are 83 settlements (134.1 thousand inhabitants) in Keles, of which 66 settlements (121.5 thousand inhabitants, 79.5%) are provided with drinking water. Ways to fully provide the remaining settlements with drinking water in two districts are being considered. Proposals have been made and the issue has been brought under control. The study is being conducted.
At the meeting, representatives of "Kegok" reported on the technical conditions for the supply of electricity, and the report of the management of the "Ontuskauyzsu" branch of RSE "Kazsuchar" was also heard. At the same time, a pilot project for automating drinking water systems in Saryagash and Sairam districts was discussed.
It should be noted that in the Turkestan region, as of the results of 2024, 767 settlements out of 807 settlements (7 cities, 760 rural settlements) or 95.0% were provided with drinking water. In 2025, the construction of 47 drinking water facilities is being implemented at the expense of the budget. The construction of 41 electricity supply facilities is underway. By the end of the year, it is planned to provide 22.3 thousand residents in 18 settlements with high-quality electricity.
