Today, February 17, at a meeting chaired by the regional akim Nurdaulet Kilybay, the issue of developing the Kendirli resort recreation area was considered. At the meeting, the akim of Zhanaozen Zhanseit Kainarbayev reported on the work currently being carried out and shared future plans.
According to him, the work on amending the master plan, combined with the detailed planning project of the Kendirli village, will be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
In order to improve transport connectivity in order to increase the tourist and economic potential of Kendirli, work will begin on the reconstruction of the highway along the route "Zhetybay - Zhanaozen - Kendirli - Turkmenistan border". This road, with a total length of 156 kilometers, belongs to the IV technical category. As part of the reconstruction work, it is planned to strengthen and upgrade the road surface.
To increase accessibility to the region, construction of a new airport has begun in Kendirli. In accordance with the instructions given by the President in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan, 599 hectares of land have been allocated for the airport. The project is currently being developed. The future airport will have a capacity of 200 passengers per hour, which will allow it to serve 30,000 to 60,000 passengers per year. The successful implementation of the project will contribute to an increase in the number of tourists to the region.
Another important project in Kendirli is the construction of a desalination plant with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters of water per day. The launch of the complex is scheduled for May 2025.
A new tourist route is also being developed from Kendirli to the historical and cultural sites of the region.
The development of the resort area will also have a positive impact on the regional economy. As a result of the project, it is planned to attract more than 600,000 domestic and foreign tourists per year. In addition, this initiative will create more than 15 thousand permanent jobs.
Regional akim Nurdaulet Kilybay noted the importance of improving infrastructure in the development of the Kendirli resort area and instructed not to remove work in this area from the agenda.
- Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to accelerate the development of the Kendirli resort area. Today, the main issue is infrastructure construction. The next step is to attract tourists. To this end, implement all measures in a timely and high-quality manner, - said Nurdaulet Kilybay.
