February 17, Deputy Akim of Mangystau Oblast Askar Kanybekov, in accordance with the instructions of the head of the region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, got acquainted with the activities of institutions under the Fisheries Department and the implementation of innovative projects in the industry. Since the Mangystau region is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, fisheries are of strategic importance for this region. However, the region mainly breeds sturgeon. New projects are being launched to increase fish species and expand aquaculture potential. One of them is the project "Formation of Caspian salmon broodstock and establishment of an incubation workshop" being implemented at the greenhouse complex of Sultan Agro LLP in Aktau. This initiative, implemented with the support of the KFEA, is aimed at giving impetus to the development of aquaculture in the region and raising the fisheries sector to a new level. Then, Askar Kanybekov visited the "Animal Protection Service" municipal institution of the Fisheries Department of the Mangystau region. This institution is engaged in the protection of the reserve stock of fishery water bodies and sites, as well as organizing measures to preserve and effectively use wildlife. They are implementing various activities aimed at maintaining environmental sustainability. During the working trip, the deputy akim of the region met with industry specialists and discussed current issues and future plans related to the development of fisheries in the region.
