Kalkamanov Saken Amangeldiyevich graduated from the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, as well as the Eurasian Humanitarian Institute. His total work experience is more than 26 years - he began his career in 1997. He has experience in management positions in state and quasi-state institutions, having served at various stages as Head of the Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Akim of the Turkestan region, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas EP JSC and KazAgro National Management Holding JSC, KazAgroMarketing JSC, as well as Managing Director of Zhasyl Damu JSC, in the latter institution he headed the Greenhouses and Climate Change block, including: greenhouse gas inventory; emissions trading system; Modeling climate policy and international cooperation.
Under his leadership, the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) was developed and presented to the international community, through which our country was recognized as a Central Asian leader in implementing the Climate Goals set out in the Paris Agreement at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29, Baku).
In addition, Saken Amangeldiuly developed a number of amendments to the "Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan", which will allow in the future to improve the emissions trading system and begin the implementation of offset projects in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Saken Kalkamanov was awarded the "Eren Enbegi Ushin" medal.
